New Year’s Reception of Export-Club Bayern – An Evening Dedicated to Innovation, Networking, and the Future of Economic Cooperation with Transylvania
On Friday, I had the honor of attending, at the invitation of the President of Export-Club Bayern e.V., Mr. Michael Kerkloh, the club’s New Year’s Reception. Export-Club Bayern is an organization with a remarkable tradition, founded after the Second World War in the context of the Marshall Plan to help revitalize the Bavarian economy. Today, it brings together more than 500 active members representing some of the most important companies within Bavaria’s economic landscape.
BMW iX3 – A Symbol of the New Era of Electric Mobility
The event took place at the headquarters of the oldest and largest BMW dealer and featured the presentation of the new BMW iX3, the first model of the Neue Klasse series. It stands as a powerful symbol of the future of electric mobility and of the European automotive industry.
Following the official opening, Dr. Mike Reichelt, Program Lead for Neue Klasse at BMW Group, presented the new iX3 in detail and highlighted the technological innovations that define this new generation.
Neue Klasse, and with it the new iX3, represents both evolution and revolution in electric mobility. A transition toward a new generation of technology, efficiency, and sustainability that redefines the standards of the automotive industry.
The Inspirational Speech of Prime Minister Mario Vogt
A particularly memorable moment was the outstanding, motivational, and forward-looking speech delivered by Mr. Mario Vogt, Prime Minister of the State of Thuringia. His message clearly demonstrated that Germany is prepared to sustain its prosperity through innovation, education, performance, commitment, hard work, and diligence. Without arrogance, but with firm determination.
In closing, he quoted Jürgen Klopp, who once said:
„The desire to win must be greater than the fear of losing."
Networking and Memorable Encounters
During the networking sessions, I had the opportunity to engage in conversations both with the speakers and with numerous members of the club. Many of them fondly recalled the presentation of Romania and the wine tasting that we organized together with Export-Club Bayern and the Consulate General of Romania last November in Munich.
Announcement. Official Economic Visit to Transylvania – September 2026
I am pleased to announce that we have agreed on an official economic visit of Export-Club Bayern members to Romania, scheduled for early September. The business trip will begin in Cluj, continue in Brașov, and conclude in Sibiu, offering participants a comprehensive perspective on a modern and innovative Transylvania.
This visit will combine technology and modernity with tradition, history, and cultural heritage. The gastronomic dimension will play a special role, as participants will have the opportunity to discover traditional local cuisine and taste excellent wines directly at wineries in Transylvania, within authentic experiences that uniquely bring together economy, culture, and hospitality.
